Sarona Construction was founded on a simple belief: that great buildings start with great people. Since 1999, we've grown from a small civil contractor into one of Gauteng's most trusted commercial and industrial construction firms.
From the Ground Up
Sarona Construction was established in 1999 by a team of civil engineers who saw an opportunity to bring a higher standard of delivery to Johannesburg's rapidly growing commercial construction market. Starting with a single warehouse project in Kempton Park, we built our reputation one project at a time — earning repeat business through consistent delivery, honest communication, and uncompromising quality.
Over the following two decades, we expanded our capabilities across commercial, industrial, and project management disciplines, growing our team to over 350 permanent staff and a network of trusted specialist subcontractors. Today, Sarona is a Level 1 B-BBEE contributor and a registered CIDB Grade 9 contractor — the highest classification in South Africa's construction industry.
Our work spans Gauteng and beyond, with landmark projects in Sandton, Rosebank, Midrand, Kempton Park, and the East Rand. But our roots — and our head office — remain in Johannesburg, the city we've helped build.

The Team Behind the Build
Sipho Dlamini
Sipho co-founded Sarona in 1999 and has led the company's growth from a single-project contractor to a Grade 9 CIDB-rated firm. A civil engineer by training, he brings 30 years of construction experience to every strategic decision.
Naledi Mokoena
Naledi oversees all construction operations across Sarona's commercial and industrial divisions. With a background in structural engineering and a decade in senior project management, she is the operational backbone of the business.
Marco Ferreira
Marco leads Sarona's project management division, overseeing programme delivery, subcontractor management, and client reporting across the portfolio. He has delivered over 80 projects in his 18 years with the company.
Thandi Nkosi
Thandi manages all commercial and contractual matters, including tendering, quantity surveying, and contract administration. Her rigorous cost control has been central to Sarona's consistent delivery within budget.
